A real troubleshooter, Tom is driven by problem-solving across the shifting cybersecurity landscape with solutions that work for all ranges of business operations. He thrives in helping businesses adapt to the ongoing cybersecurity threat of the digital revolution. By using automated processes and smart technology—like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning— he’ll look to continuously innovate and strengthen cybersecurity across people, process, and technology.
About Tom Leen
Tom originally joined the Defendify team in 2018 to lead Defendify’s software strategy and application development. As a veteran software engineer with a systems analyst background, Tom has 26 years of professional full-stack development experience to drive innovation and propel Defendify in this next phase of growth.
He began his career as a senior technologist at Razorfish followed by founding his own consulting company, Confluent Forms LLC, for 16 years helping SMB’s as well as large enterprises with general-purpose consulting of tech and internet project-based work.
After starting with Defendify, Tom’s role has grown from Backend Engineer to Lead Engineer and now Head of Engineering. He’s been instrumental in developing Defendify’s SaaS platform and infrastructure, including Defendify’s recently launched Breach Detection & Response module. His evolution within the company proves his valued leadership and expertise is a launching pad for improved iteration and continued growth.
His aim has always been to encourage a tightened security mindset while getting the software to perform admirably at scale as the company grows alongside its customers. Tom’s production-oriented focus and disciplined engineering team will be the catalyst to delivering working code that solves any arising customer issue.
Recent Accolades
This news comes on the heels of Defendify’s recognition as a 2021 Fortress Cyber Security Award recipient in June. As one of 50 global software and application companies, Defendify was the only software company to win in the Organizational Excellence category, which is defined as a solution that can “integrate all aspects of cybersecurity, from top to bottom, in the most cohesive way possible.”
