Some Managed Service Providers have been able to add value to the services that they are offering to their clients by offering cybersecurity to better protect them through uncertainty now, and in the future.
On September 30th Defendify Co-Founder Rob Simopoulos hosted a webinar with a panel of Managed Service Provider leaders to learn how they are navigating their business, and their clients, around industry challenges, and how adding cybersecurity services have increased recurring revenue opportunities.

The panelist all discussed how the sudden shift from work to home back in March has caused an increased interest and awareness in cybersecurity; with employees no longer working in one central location the risks of having a cyber attack are amplified.
Many businesses do not realize that they need to improve their cybersecurity posture until either themselves or a business run by a colleague suffers a cyberattack. Panelist, Mike Doherty, shared a story of how a single phishing email snowballed into one company nearly losing a quarter of a million dollars!
The panelist all agreed that two of the most important things in making sure that your business or a client’s business are cybersecure are to have awareness training for all employees and to use two-factor authentication for all accounts across all devices.
The webinar concluded with each panelist sharing a tip that they would give to another Managed Service Provider.
MSP Leader Tips:
Mike Doherty spoke about standardization saying, “standardization makes your life so much better – it is the absolute key to success in this industry.”
Jeff Avakian advised other service providers to become a trusted cybersecurity partner for your clients.
Josh Peskay’s tip to other MSPs was to educate. He said, “When you work really hard to educate your customers and perspective customers you are going to also be educating yourself.”
