Defendify recently rolled up their sleeves to volunteer at the Center for Grieving Children in Portland, Maine, deep cleaning, sweeping, dusting, restocking, and sorting the rooms in the facility used for group meetings and other activities. The team was so glad to lend a hand, and even enjoyed themselves in the process—cleaning is much more fun when it’s for a good cause!
The Center for Grieving Children is a nonprofit organization that encourages and supports the safe expression of grief and loss. With locations in Portland and Sanford, they provide completely free-of-charge services for children, teens, young adults, and their family members throughout southern Maine. Founded in 1987, the Center has served more than 66,000 people experiencing grief.
The Center for Grieving Children provides services 100% free of charge, so they rely on volunteers to keep things running smoothly. It felt good to see the progress made in rooms used to support young children, teens and pre-teens, young adults, and other family members, all while learning about the great work that the Center does to provide support and love to those going through a difficult time.
