Defendify Leads Cybersecurity Discussion at USAV Spring Partners Meeting 

Defendify recently participated in USAV Group’s Spring Partners Meeting, co-located with the NSCA BLC in Irving, Texas on February 24-25, 2020. Co-Founder Rob Simopoulos had the opportunity to co-host a discussion around cybersecurity awareness and education for USAV members and other audio-visual professionals. Rob and co-presenter, Brandon Besong with cyber insurance provider True North Companies, led a presentation giving background on cybersecurity issues affecting systems integrators, then broke into discussion groups to reflect on specific cybersecurity topics and personal experiences.

Cybersecurity was a critical topic of discussion at the event—one attendee shared a personal anecdote about a company hit with ransomware that brought their system down for two weeks. Many other members shared that their companies were starting to receive cybersecurity assessments and they didn’t know where to start. Rob and Brandon discussed the importance of a strong, comprehensive cybersecurity program to help members protect themselves, their customers, and their reputation.
