Defendify Featured at NSCA Pivot to Profit 2019 

Defendify recently attended the National Systems Contractors Association’s annual Pivot to Profit conference, held September 24-25th in Irving, Texas. Co-Founder Rob Simopoulos hosted both a group presentation and a round-robin Toolkit Talk, covering all things cybersecurity for integrators and Small Business.

The NSCA is a nonprofit association that represents the commercial electronic systems industry and an advocate of all who work within the industry, including systems contractors and integrators, manufacturers, consultants, engineers, and more. Pivot to Profit (P2P) is an annual event put on by the NSCA to give integrators and other professionals the business tools they need to foster their future success. P2P attendees are encouraged to embrace change and focus on increasing recurring revenue and as-a-service offerings, as well as explore how new technologies and solutions will affect their business.

Defendify’s focus at the event was very much in line with this theme: cybersecurity is a critical consideration for the modern integrator, both in terms of protecting their own business and from a perspective of sales and success. Rob’s presentation covered potential cybersecurity considerations around the connected devices that integrators use daily—cameras, lights, AV equipment, and more. P2P attendees had the opportunity to learn about how to tackle cybersecurity challenges in their business to best protect themselves and their customers. Additionally, Rob discussed the ways in which a cybersecurity posture—and offering—can be a competitive advantage and a source of recurring revenue for the savvy integrator.

The Defendify team looks forward to attending Pivot to Profit each year, and 2019 was no exception. The conference brings value in many areas to all involved in the integration and security industry.
