Defendify Speaks at Maine Insurance Agents Association Annual Convention

Defendify Co-Founder Rob Simopoulos recently attended the Maine Insurance Agents Association (MIAA) Annual Convention to speak on cybersecurity awareness for insurance agents and their businesses. Held in South Portland, Maine April 29-30, the Annual Convention brought insurance agents and other industry professionals together for a business meeting and breakfast, educational seminars, and an annual banquet.

Rob’s presentation covered cybersecurity threats to small businesses today and how insurance professionals can minimize their risk. Attendees learned why a strong cybersecurity posture requires multiple layers of protection and they can effectively employ each layer at their organization. The presentation provided action steps to protect sensitive data and build a strong culture of cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity threats aren’t going away any time soon, but insurance professionals can reduce their risk – and the risk to their organization – by educating themselves and taking small steps towards improving their cybersecurity posture. Convention attendees even received Continuing Education credit for attending the seminar and bettering their knowledge of cybersecurity threats and their role in reducing their organization’s risk.

The MIAA hosts several events throughout the year, and offers educational opportunities and resources to members.
